Chris G. Williams Beware: I mix tech and personal interests here.

I've got a bunch of technical books I'd like to get rid of.  Some are more current than others.

3D Programming For Windows
Introducing LINQ
VB.NET Class Design Handbook
FBML Essentials
Test Driven Development in Microsoft .NET
The Rational Guide To Building Technical User Communities
Expression Web Step By Step
Applications = Code + Markup

I don't really feel like dealing with the hassle of ebay (or Amazon), and I'd hate to just throw them away.

Craigslist / Freecycle both involve having strangers coming to my house....

So I'm open to suggestions.

Thrift store.

Drop them off at Goodwill or another thrift store. Depending on where you take them, you can even get a tax-deduction donation receipt.

So you have no hassles other than dropping off and people can benefit from getting the books cheaply.

I have donated to my local library (they keep what they want and sell the rest at a book sale) and also goodwill.

We also have in WA - they give you pennies on the dollar for many books but its better than nothing. Take in a box of books, get $20 or $40 store credit. Sadly none near you

Oh yeah, I'm well acquainted with HPB. We had 7 in Minneapolis. Visited all of them on a regular basis... sometimes in the same day.

We have a used book store here, but they are somewhat picky.

Give them to a local user group to use as giveaways?
