Geeks With Blogs

About Me:
I am a Female SharePoint Developer (a platinum unicorn). I have been working with SharePoint since I attended the Portal University in 2005. I hold a BA in Computer Science from the University of Missouri - Kansas City. I love playing Rockband, organizing user group meetings, working with code, attending events as a speaker or organizer, and having bizarre conversations about geek things with cool people. If you have any comments or questions fill out the contact form and I will try my best to help.

The Guide of a MOSSLover Becky Isserman's Blog

I’ve had a lot of bad things happen to me in my life.  The past few weeks I believe have been a huge test I’ve had some problems with my personal life and some natural disasters.  I was thinking during this entire experience what doesn’t kill me makes me stronger.  I am going through something traumatic, but you know what I can survive it.  I am an incredibly durable person.  When things suck I go into crisis mode when I’m on my own.  I believe that what made this possible is all the traumas in my life.  I didn’t really have it as easy as some or as horrible as others.  I had a hard time though.  I won’t really get into detail.  Some of you know me and others don’t.  I was very young when some bad things happened to me, so that made me very durable almost three decades later to withstand these  problems.  I know it’s going to be a hard time in the upcoming months because I’m getting over some things.  I have to say I will survive anything the universe throws at me.  Whether is be an earthquake or something terribly personal and painful I will get past it.  I will look back and realize I can survive anything.

For those of you out there who are young and impressionable I want to tell you.  If anyone harms you or gets you down don’t believe them.  You can do anything with your life.  You can become whatever you want.  Go out become a doctor or a lawyer or a dancer or whatever you feel like doing.  Live wherever you want.  Do anything within reason.  You can reach for the moon or space if you want.  Dream a dream or set a goal.  If life throws something crazy at you brush it off and keep walking forward.  That’s what I am going to do in my life from now on.  I will not listen to anyone else when they tell me I can’t move somewhere or do something.  I am going to walk forward with my head held high and a fake mustache on my face.  You do the same (as long as it doesn’t involve harming othersSmile).  Good luck and hopefully I will meet you some day, because I seriously would like to meet another person following there dreams like me.

No matter how hard it is to do something it is believing in oneself that makes the difference.
I like the spirit ;)
Keep it up !
Too often I met people who are afraid of difficulties they found on their way. Turning around can't sometimes helps. But always choosing the easy way is a curse. I think it s more valuable to accomplish something difficult, and usually those experience will stay in memories forever.
Many times in my life I was confronted to difficult tasks. At first I would have said it s impossible to do. But yet I was always in the "Let s try it" state of mind. And most of time Success was the outcome. Today I am much more confident cause I know by experience that I can do better than i think.
I think everyone can do better than what they think ;)

You ARE a survivor! And don't forget you have the support of many friends, myself included, to lean on when you need us. You'll emerge better than ever from this, and you know it. :)
